Reflexology uses pressure on different parts of the feet to stimulate reactions throughout the organs of the body
I qualified as a reflexologist with The International Institute of Reflexology in London in 1998. This school followed the work of Eunice Ingham, a physiotherapist in USA who mapped the organs of the body in the feet in the 1930s using Zone Therapy originating in China.
After completing Tony Porter's Advanced Reflexology Techniques ART in London in 2005, I travelled to New Zealand and have been working as a reflexologist in Whangarei and Waipu since 2009.
Reflexology is great for relieving conjestion in the sinuses, lungs, digestive tract, blood vessels and lymphatics. The stimulating effect encourages a full body workout from the inside out, balancing hormones, supporting the healthy functioning of the organs and relieving stress and tension.
The reflex points can be quite tender having the effect of unblocking nerve impulses, stimulating blood and lymph flow and relieving stress and tension. Overall reflexology encourages the organs of the body to achieve a state of balance/homeostasis.
